The emotions run high on this issue, but, as citizens of this country, can we put down our emotional sword thrusts at one another and think with a clear head? Majority opinion vs. minority opinion--the judge's opinion vs. the voters' opinions--either way, our opinions do not matter. I believe in a God who created us and has given His opinion on this issue. Take that away, and any issue is only up to whoever has the most political, legal, or physical power. And, yes, we have to deal with that most important of all questions: Is the Bible truth? All of life hangs on that question. The evidence for the Bible's authenticity is there to see for anyone who really wants to know the truth. Led by the evidence outside of human opinion, you will see that the Bible is God's Word, and He has said that homosexual activity as well as heterosexual activity--any sexual activity--outside of the holy matrimony between one man and one woman is sinfully wrong, no matter what the majority or minority thinks about it. As human beings, we are not the masters of our own destinies or our own bodies. Only in our pride, do we rage against that idea. I just read Psalm 2:1-3 this morning: Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, "Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us." As far as how we Christians treat those who disagree or even mistreat us, if you disagree with me, the Bible tells me to love you while hating your sin, treating you with kindness while trying to lead you to repentance for your own eternal good, without personal attacks, even if you attack me.
