One day at my desk, my almost-four-year-old son climbed into my lap and told me that Jesus is in his fingers. He also told me that Jesus made him and had put a door in his back that isn't there anymore. I think in his little mind, he was meaning to convey that Jesus put the door in his back, stepped through the door into him, and then took the door out once He was inside. Great stuff. His face was lit up while he was telling me all of that. Consider these Scriptures:
9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. (Romans 8:9–11) Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test! (2 Corinthians 13:5) And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:17) I want my son to be sure that Jesus truly is in his fingers...as well as in his mouth, his head, and his whole being. I pray he will saturate with Jesus everything he thinks with his mind, says with his mouth, and does with his fingers. He must make sure there is no deficiency of Jesus in any aspect of his being or area of his life. So must we all.
