ON TUESDAY If you are a Christian, your Lord wants you to do something very simple: vote the way He wants you to. The Lord Jesus is not a Republican or a Democrat, but He is also not neutral. He has an agenda for this nation, not as a partisan prince, but as the King of kings and Lord of lords~the King of this nation, world, and universe. As His holy nation within this nation, we are to ask His agenda, adopt His agenda, and implement His agenda. On the day of the election, His opinions and values are the only ones that matter. If our votes reflect those, we are right~if they don't, we are wrong. ON WEDNESDAY Whether you are a Christian or not, Jesus will still be Lord. No matter who is in the chair of the Oval Office, Jesus is on the throne of Heaven and Earth. No matter who is in power, He has all power. While the President's influence is in this moment, Jesus' influence is infinite. Wherever the President or any other man rules, Jesus overrules. His agenda will stand, whether in His blessing on righteousness or His judgment on wickedness. Whomever is elected will temporarily rise to power on promises and high hopes, all of which he probably will not be able to fulfill, being a mere man. But the Lord Jesus is eternally established in His power and, being God, is the infinite Source of all goodness, whose promises never fail so that our high hopes in Him will never be dashed. Are you anchored to and abiding in Him as one of His own? Are you trusting in Him even if the polls are against us, our pocketbooks are emptied, and persecution awaits us, knowing that He will never leave us nor forsake us, and no one can stay His hand as He works all things together for the good of us? Psalm 146 1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul!
2 I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. 3 Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. 4 When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. 5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, 6 who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; 7 who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free; 8 the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. 9 The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. 10 The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord!
